Volkswagen has won everything this year. Team has been simply unbelievable. Sebastien Ogier win the drivers championship, Julien Ingrassia win the co-drivers championship and Volkswagen Motorsport wins the manufacturers championship.
Reasons for such a good success are many. I think that the main reason for such a season is that Volkswagen tested their Polo R WRC whole last year whitout WRC limitation. They had a good time to build the perfect tool for win the rallies. And, of course, they have one of the world´s best drivers to work for them. Sebastien Ogier has been utterly fantastic this year!
Next year Citroen and Ford are going to catch up Volkswagen on their car development and I think that the competition will be evenly matched after that. Then what about new team Hyundai? They have tested i20 WRC this year, but how ready is the car for next season? Rumors are telling that Thierry Neuville will work for Hyundai next year. Neuville has been really good this year and he really deserves a medal after this season. Neuville has 14 points advantage over Latvala. These two drivers are fighting for silver medal on Rally GB.
Malcolm Wilson has announced that he wants Mikko Hirvonen to work in the M-Sport next year. Let see what happens. Maybe Ford will be good solution for Hirvonen to get back his will to win. Hirvonen has not been himself after hard crash on Urria stage in Neste Oil Rally 2010. He have won only once with Citroen. I sure hope that Mikko gets a good place to drive for couple of years before he end his career.
